Far West, led by President and CEO Richard Zimmer, is developing its flagship Santo Domingo copper-iron project in Northern Chile where it is working to complete a prefeasibility study in 2011. The Santo Domingo Project hosts an Indicated Resource of 485.5 Mt at an average copper equivalent grade of 0.57% and a further 61.8Mt Inferred Resource at an average copper equivalent grade of 0.46% within several deposits, at a cut-off grade of 0.25% copper equivalent. In April 2011 the company agreed to be acquired by Capstone Mining on the basis of 1.82 Capstone shares plus $1 in cash per Far West share, approximately a $725 million value.
