Columbus Copper Corp (CCU-V)
Empire Mining Corp, led by Robert Giustra and Rio Tinto's former European exploration manager David Cliff, is focused on developing the Bulqiza chromite project in Albania and exploring the Bursa copper skarn/porphyry project in Turkey. Empire listed as a CPC on Oct 25, 2005 and completed its qualifiying transaction in November 2007 by optioning 65% of the Bursa project from Anatolia Mining (now Alacer). Bursa has been the focus of ancient mining activity but did not see modern exploration until 2000 when it became part of a strategic alliance between Rio Tinto and Anatolia which explored for copper until Rio Tinto dropped out in 2007, by which time Anatolia had become focused on gold. Cliff, who had been the driving force behind the alliance until his retirement in April 2006, saw Bursa as unfinished business which now included the Demirtepe target. In early 2012 Columbus acquired 100% of Bursa from Alacer and subsequently signed a JV agreement where First Quantum can earn up to 70% by completing the equivalent of a BFS. The target for First Quantum is discovery of a major porphyry system at the Demirtepe target. Additional Columbus projects include the Bulqiza license covering the existing Bulqiza-Batra chromite district which has been the primary source of metallurgical grade, direct shipping chromite ore from Albania as well as early-stage porphyry targets in Serbia. |
Key to Understanding IPV Charts and Spec Value Hunter Tables
An IPV Chart is a graphical presentation of a Spec Value Hunter table that has been constructed according to the Rational Speculation Model developed by John Kaiser. The IPV Chart allows speculators to identify which projects offer poor, fair or good speculative value in both absolute and relative terms. The speculative value depends on the project stage, the project's implied value as calculated by the company's fully diluted capitalization, stock price and net project interest, and the dream target deemed appropriate for the project. A dream target is what a project would be worth in discounted cash flow terms once in production. |
Green background indicates the dream target judged appropriate for this play by John Kaiser - otherwise unranked. |
Poor Speculative Value - |
Fair Speculative Value - |
Good Speculative Value - |
Note: narrow arrows indicate IPV is outside the fair value channel but within 25% of the fair value limits |
