Kaiser Media Watch Blog - March 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016
Kaiser Media Watch Blog enables John Kaiser to share online content from other media he deems interesting or relevant to Kaiser Research Online audiences. He collects links to such content and writes a brief explanation. The KMW Blog gets updated during the evening KRO update. After a week or so the current KMW Blog gets archived and a new one is started. Tweets are sent with a link to the item in the KMW Blog when it is of particular interest. Right clicking the JK header allows one to share or copy a link directly to that specific blog post.
Allan and I spend an hour reviewing some of the big stories KRO covered during March including Arizona Mining Inc (see SVH Trackers- Mar 4, 2016 and Mar 21, 2016), Peregrine Diamonds Ltd (see SVH Tracker - Mar 14, 2016 and Outcome Visualization - Mar 14, 2016), Canalaska Uranium Ltd (see BF Comment - Mar 16, 2016), Sirios Resources Inc (see BF comments Mar 15, 2016 and Mar 29, 2016) and the proxy battle for Eastmain Resources Inc (see SVH Tracker - Mar 28, 2016) . We spend a fair bit of time on the Cheechoo project for which Sirios reported its best hole yet the day before. As it turns out the day before Allan did a 30 minute Interview with Andre Gaumond which largely focuses on Andre's new home at Osisko Gold Royalties Inc. However, around the 20 minute mark Allan gets Andre to talk about the Cheechoo play 15 km southeast of Eleonore where it becomes apparent that he is watching this new gold play in Eleonore's backyard quite closely. Andre Gaumond also talks about the royalty Osisko is buying in Arizona Mining's Hermosa-Taylor zinc-lead-silver discovery which does not involve gold but in his view is shaping up to be a world-class discovery.
During the Cambridge Conference in January 2016 Teresa Matich of Investing News Network grabbed me for an interview, and rather than do a rehash of my conference presentation and favorite picks, I suggested that I talk about 6 juniors exhibiting at the conference that made it into my 2016 Bottom-Fish Edition and about which I have never written much about, and which represent a cross-section of the sort of stories that interest me. I finally tracked down the link and have made it available. Since then I have written a lot about two of the juniors, Arizona Mining Inc and Sirios Resources Inc, but the other four, Mawson Resources Ltd, Mirasol Resources Ltd, Regulus Resources Inc, and Silvercrest Metals Inc, will soon get their turn. The interview is only 12 minutes, but I managed to squeeze the gist of each junior into that timeframe.
On March 6, 2015 I gave my PDAC presentation (There will never be a better Bottom-Fish Edition) during the 25 minutes allotted to speakers during the Newsletter Writer session. I managed to get done on time, but some slides received short shrift. So Allan and I came up with the idea of walking through each slide of the presentation where I would make my point, Allan would ask questions, and we would beat the topic to death before moving on the next slide. The result is an all over the map discourse which captures many of my current thoughts on the resource sector and what the future holds for juniors. It was supposed last only an hour, but it ended up 2 hours and 15 minutes, and that was only because the bad weather we have been having in the Bay Area decided enough was enough and killed my connection through a brief power outage. The setup was such that the slide was visible only when Allan was speaking. Anybody who wishes to watch this video should download the presentation pdf linked above and advance the pages as needed so that you can follow my discussion about what the charts mean.
This audio interview by Jim Goddard from This Week in Money begins at the 6:30 mark. Producer Tom Allen and I developed a series of questions based on my PDAC presentation.
