The Conference Focus features all the companies exhibiting at an upcoming or recent conference, usually one where John Kaiser is presenting. Its purpose is to enable investors to reasearch companies in advance as well as follow up afterwards. The map features only company flagship projects. All of the companies and their flagship projects are featured at the Share Collective which is currently in beta test.

Metals Investor Forum September 28-29, 2018 Presentations and Interviews
The Metals Investor Forum is a two day conference which caps registration at 800 delegates and features 20-30 companies invited by the independent newsletter writers from their universe of covered companies. The speakers are independent in that their newsletters are funded primarily by individual subscriber fees, not corporate sponsorships. That is important because the success or failure of a recommendation affects the future revenue of an independent writer but not those of somebody masquerading as a "newsletter writer" who "likes" a company as long as he or she is paid by that company. The speakers thus put their reputation on the line through the lineup of companies they have invited. When registration for an upcoming MIF conference opens up the first group to be invited are the subscribers of the newsletter speakers. When the registration cap is reached subsequent registrants go on a waiting list. Registration is free. The conference provides a free self-serve breakfast and lunch for delegates as well as cocktails at the end of each day. The format consists of sessions kicked off by a 20 minute talk by a newsletter speaker, following which he or she introduces each of the companies who give a 10 minute presentation. Usually these companies are ones invited by the speaker. These presentations are video-taped and published via YouTube. After the session the speakers move to the "over-flow" room where a question and answer session takes place until the start of the next speaker session. The newsletter writer later interviews each of his/her companies in a private 10 minute video session. The 10 minute public speaking slot for the company is intended to give the company an opportunity to outline its story in a manner that hooks the audience's interest, not bore it with excruciating detail. The idea is that audience members will track down the company representative at their "booth" in the exhibitor hall or after the conference if they wish to discuss the company in greater detail. The interview, at least as I (John Kaiser) conducts them, is designed to supplement the main presentation with questions an informed audience member might have wanted to ask. The MIF conferences are also turning into a process of cross-fertilization where the main speakers get a chance to investigate what their peers are recommending. In bull markets this does not happen because the tendency is to ignore companies a competitor has already recommended. But as this resource sector bear market trudges into its eighth year, there is no shame in checking out the picks of one's competitors and possibly adopting them because in this market nobody's endorsement makes a stock too expensive for others to recommend later on. That is why all the presentations and interviews from the MIF September 28-29, 2018 conference have been assembled here, to make it much easier to check out what other speakers and their picks have to offer. Alternatively there is the MIF YouTube Videos site which provides access to all the videos, including those from prior or subsequent conferences. Those who prefer speed-reading can alternatively check out the MIF September 2018 Magazine. You can also check out the Kaiser MIF September 2018 Blog which features just the Kaiser session presenters.
